Thank you for your interest in attending BATEC’s 2016 Summer Institute. To be eligible for travel scholarships, you must meet the following criteria:

  • Serve as a currently-employed faculty or staff member from a public college or high
  • Attend all five days of the conference – Monday morning, August 8, 2016 – Friday afternoon, August 12, 2016.
  • Complete end of course online surveys and action plan for using knowledge obtained.
  • Local Attendees (less than 75 miles from campus)

    Eligible Expenses: Parking Voucher for free parking at the UMass Boston Bayside Lot directly behind the Double Tree Hotel on Mount Vernon St will be supplied each day during class.

    Traveling Attendees:

    Please Note: No personal reimbursements will be made. All transportation will be directly purchased and paid for by BATEC. Hotel accommodations must be made through the link provided. Participants are responsible for any cancelation fees or no show fees they incur. Approved travel will be covered on a first-come, first-served basis until funds are exhausted. Your eligibility will be confirmed via e-mail within 5 business days of your registration for the event.

    Partner-affiliated attendees (City Colleges of Chicago, Chicago Public Schools, Springfield(OH) Public Schools, Clark State Community College, Broward College):
    BATEC will offer travel assistance of up to five (5) nights of hotel, estimated at $1,000 per recipient, and up to $500 for airfare or train (lowest cost fare, economy class) paid directly by BATEC to the transporter; no personal reimbursements will be processed. Additional costs will be the responsibility of the attendee. The hotel link to book your reservation can be found on lodging.     Non-Partner- affiliated Attendees:

    BATEC will offer a scholarship to cover up to five (5) nights of hotel, estimated at $1,000 per recipient. All assistance will be paid directly by BATEC to the hotel; no personal reimbursements will be processed. The hotel link to book your reservation can be found on lodging. Airfare and subsistence will be the responsibility of the attendee.
