We are pleased to offer the option to receive graduate credit for a subset of our Summer SparCS professional learning courses. The following CSforMA workshops are eligible for credit.

SCI6035 Building Research Competency K-12, Summer 2025, 1 credit

Registration Closed. Next course offering: November 15-16, 2025

  • 1.5-day workshop, 1 credit
  • Covers SMK #5
  • Must take Building Research Competency K-12 June 24 or June 25, 2025
  • Post-workshop Assignment: NONE

SCI6036 PK6 Computer Science Part 1, Summer 2025, 3 credits

  • 5-day summer workshop, 40 hours, 3 credits
  • Must take PreK-6 Computer Science July 21-25, 2025
  • Post-workshop Assignment: NONE
  • Together with CS Part 2 (below) covers SMK #6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12 — MUST TAKE PART 2

SCI6037 PK6 Computer Science Part 2, Fall 2025, 2 credits

SCI6039 PreK-6 Digital Literacy, Summer 2025, 3 credits

  • Must take PreK-6 Digital Literacy July 28 – August 1, 2025

SCI6038 Teaching Computer Science in Middle and High School, Summer 2025, 3 credits

  • 5-day summer workshop, 3 credits
  • Must take one of the following:
    • Code.org CS Discoveries, July 21 – 25, 2025
    • Teaching CS with Lego, July 28 – Aug 1, 2025
    • Code.org CS Principles, July 28 – Aug 1, 2025
    • Code.org AI Foundations, July 21 – 25, 2025
    • Code.org CS-A, July 28 – Aug 1, 2025
  • Post-workshop Assignment Due by October 1, 2025 (Email to info@csforma.org)
    • Write a 500-1000 word essay addressing the following questions:
      • As you’ve been teaching computer science in your classroom, what strategies have you used to help students with content that they find difficult? How can that be applied more broadly in your teaching practices?

  • FIrst, be sure you’ve taken the corresponding CSforMA course.
  • Complete the graduate credit enrollment form and return to CSforMA (submit to info@csforma.org)
