Mass Bay Community College offers a two-week Summer Bridge program at the college in the month of July. This program targets students from high schools in the Metro-West area with whom Mass Bay already has strong relationships. Students participating in this program have an opportunity to sign up to take a transferable college credit course, or explore career programs by participating in 2.5 day workshops during their stay.

The program runs from 9 AM to 3:30 PM for ten days. In addition students also participate in college preparedness workshops and activities. In 2015, three of the workshops were led and assisted by second year or graduated Mass Bay students. These student leaders worked under the leadership of a faculty member but led and ran the workshops. Each workshop was led by two student leaders and one student assistant. The two courses that were offered for credit in 2015 were CS 126 Digital Imaging and MN 130 Engineering Design.

  • Programming the Raspberry Pi, Art & Robotics = Artbotics
  • Storytelling with Scratch, Developing apps with AppInventor
  • High school students are offered the opportunity to take college level technology based courses
