Attendees of the BATEC 2015 Summer Institute may be eligible for travel reimbursement up to a maximum of $1,500 per attendee. The actual amount of the reimbursement and the requirements for eligibility vary based on job function (faculty, administrator, staff support), academic institution of employment (in-network vs. out-of-network institution), and travel distance (less than 40 miles, less than 75 miles, more than 75 miles) to the campus of U/Mass Boston.

Category 1 Attendees 

Eligible Expenses: Parking Voucher for free parking at the UMass Boston Bayside Lot directly behind the Double Tree Hotel on Mount Vernon St will be supplied each day during class.

Category 2 Attendees

Eligible Expenses: Parking Voucher for free parking at the UMass Boston Bayside Lot directly behind the Double Tree Hotel on Mount Vernon St will be supplied each day during class, plus reimbursement mileage at the rate of $0.575.

Category 3 Attendees

Eligible Expenses: Parking Voucher for free parking at the UMass Boston Bayside Lot directly behind the Double Tree Hotel on Mount Vernon St will be supplied each day during class.

Category 4 Attendees

Eligible Expenses: Airfare or Train (lowest cost fare, economy class) and Hotel (See Reserving a Room for approved lodging information)

Maximum Allowed: $1,500 maximum reimbursement

Category 5 Attendees

Eligible Expenses: Airfare or Train (lowest cost fare, economy class) and Hotel (See Reserving a Room for approved lodging information)

Maximum Allowed: $1,500 maximum reimbursement

Additional Requirement: Submission of curriculum modified or developed as a result of attending. (See Curriculum Submission and Curriculum Release for more information)

Special Note: Curriculum Submission must be approved before (see Curriculum Submission for more information) reimbursement will be processed.

What category do I fall into?

 

For participants less than 40 miles from the campus:

Category 1 Attendees are faculty, administrators, and support staff whose legal residence is less than 40 miles from the campus of U/Mass Boston.

For participants more than 40 miles, but less than 75 miles, from the campus:

Category 2 Attendees are in-network institution faculty, administrators, and support staff whose legal residence is more than 40 miles, and less than 75 miles, from the campus of U/Mass Boston.

Category 3 Attendees are out-of-network institutions faculty and administrators whose legal residence is more than 40 miles, and less than 75 miles, from the campus of U/Mass Boston.

For participants more than 75 miles from the campus:

Category 4 Attendees are in-network institutions faculty, administrators, and support staff whose legal residence is more than 75 miles from the campus of U/Mass Boston.

Category 5 Attendees are out-of-network institutions faculty and administrators whose legal residence is more than 75 miles from the campus of U/Mass Boston.

Attendees seeking travel reimbursement should know:

✓ In order to be eligible for reimbursement, a W9 and UMass Boston Vendor form must be submitted no later than Monday, July 13, 2015. Please note that the information you are providing must match the IRS database exactly. (*W-8BEN must be used in lieu of the W9 for all non-resident aliens or foreign vendors, if this applies to you please let us know). Please mail the original ink signature copies to: Katie M. ✓ Travel reimbursement will be at economy class rates, 30 day advance purchase.

✓ Participants must attend all 35 hours of training.

✓ A travel reimbursement form must be submitted within 15 days of the event conclusion and will not be processed until after you have provided all required paperwork and curriculum (if required).
