We are pleased to offer graduate credit for a subset of our CSforMA professional learning courses. You must first enroll in the CSforMA course and then register for the graduate credit with Cambridge College. This is a multi-step process. You must register with CSforMA and complete the course, and then subsequently enroll in graduate credit with Cambridge College. After you enroll with the college, watch for an email requesting payment. If you do not submit payment, you are not enrolled for credit.
- Register for a graduate-credit-eligible professional development workshop with CSforMA. See CSforMA.org/PD for upcoming workshops.
- Register for the corresponding graduate course on the Cambridge College Registrar website.
- See below for the Course Code and Title corresponding to your workshop.
- Pay the tuition when Bay Path/Cambridge College sends you an invoice by email. ($75/credit) Check Spam and Junk folders! This email often gets trapped by spam filters.
- Attend the course. CSforMA will submit grades within two weeks of the course end date.
- Three weeks after your course ends, you may Request a transcript at https://www.cambridgecollege.edu/alumni/requesting-transcripts
The following CSforMA workshops are eligible for credit.
SCI6038 Teaching Computer Science in Middle and High School, Summer, 2 credits
- Must take one of the following through CSforMA:
- Code.org AI Foundations, 5-day summer course, 2 credits
- Computational Thinking with Scratch & Micro:Bit, 4-day summer course, 2 credits
- Exploring Computer Science, 5-day summer course, 2 credits
- Code.org CS Principles, 5-day summer course, 2 credits
SCI6036 PK6 Computer Science Part ONE, Summer, 3 credits
- 5-day summer workshop, 40 hours, 3 credits
- Must take CSforMA PK-6 Computer Science Part One 5-day summer course
- Together with CS Part 2 (below) covers SMK #6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12 — MUST TAKE PART TWO TO RECEIVE SMKs (Note: you do not need to pay for grad credits in order to receive the Letter of Attestation/SMKs. These are separate processes.)
SCI6037 PK6 Teaching Computer Science Part TWO, Fall, 2 credits
- 4 days during academic year, 30 hours, 2 credits
- Must first take CSforMA PK-6 Computer Science 5-day summer course
- Must take CSforMA PK-6 Computer Science Part Two, 4 days of workshops, typically over two weekends in October & December
- Together with PK6 CS Part One (above), covers SMK #6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12 — MUST TAKE PART ONE FIRST (Note: you do not need to pay for grad credits in order to receive the Letter of Attestation/SMKs. These are separate processes.)
SCI6039 Teaching PreK-6 Digital Literacy, Summer, 3 credits
- 5-day summer workshop, 40 hours, 3 credits
- Covers DLCS SMK #1, 2, 3, 4
- Must take CSforMA PK-6 Digital Literacy 5-day summer course
SCI6079 Intro to Text-Based Programming (Python) for Educators, 2 credits
- 5-day summer workshop OR 10-week virtual workshop, 2 credits
- Helps teachers prepare for the coding portion of the MTEL
- Must attend at least 90% of the synchronous classroom hours, and complete all assignments.
SCI6035 Building Research Competency, 1 credit
- 2-day workshop, 1 credit
- Covers SMK #5
- Must take CSforMA Building Research Competency online course
Registration and Tuition
How to Register for Graduate Credit:
- First, be sure you’ve registered for the corresponding CSforMA course.
- Complete the enrollment form on the Cambridge College Registrar website.
- Pay tuition directly to BayPath/Cambridge College via their email link. (Check spam and junk folders!)
- 3 weeks after the course has ended, request a transcript at https://www.cambridgecollege.edu/alumni/requesting-transcripts
A Note about PreK-6 DLCS Licensure
Note that CSforMA PreK-6 DLCS courses offer the additional requirements needed to obtain a DLCS PK-6 license — you must already hold a teaching license. Those seeking their initial MA teaching license must attend an accredited educator preparation program.
